Time For An Upgrade

So the time has come for me to start looking for a new computer.
This time I am looking to save lots of space, without having to sacrifice on performance.
I do have a budget of approximately R10000-00.

For now I have two options:
1. Apple Mac Mini
2. Sony VAIO (SVF1518)

Mac Mini
I already have a nice 23 inch display to go with this Mac Mini.
The specs on this Mac Mini are pretty good 🙂
I would need to get familiar with this operating system though.
I will also have the option of installing Windows 7 on a seperate partition 🙂

* CPU – Intel Core i7 (2.3GHz quad-core)
* Hard Drive – 1TB (5400-rpm)
* Graphics – Intel HD 4000
* RAM – 4GB (DDR3)
* HDMI port
* No DVD-RW
* Wi-Fi 802.11n
* Bluetooth 4.0
* Ethernet 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet (RJ-45 connector)
* USB 3.0
* SD Card Reader
* OS X Mountain Lion

Sony VAIO
If I had to go for this option, what would I do with my lovely 23 inch display?
I could just sell it.
Mobility with this option would definitely be a plus 🙂
I am not a big fan of Windows 8 though.
I would definitely have to install Windows 7 on this notebook.

* CPU – Intel Core i5 3337U (1.8GHz dual-core)
* Hard Drive – 500GB (5400rpm)
* Graphics – NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M 1GB DDR3
* RAM – 4GB (DDR3) Max 8GB
* HDMI port
* DVD-RW
* WiFi 802.11b/g/n
* Bluetooth
* Ethernet 10/100 LAN
* USB 3.0
* SD Card Reader
* Microsoft Windows 8

The performance of the i7 processor in the Mac Mini would definitely be a nice to have.
The graphics card in the Sony VAIO would also be a nice to have.
I will also be able to easily upgrade the memory in the Sony VAIO.
8GB of RAM must be so cool.

I need some time to decide which one is best for me.
Once I have made my choice, I will let you guys know.
Take care.
Cheers! 🙂
